Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023) Movie Review

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse feels like an attempt by its creators to prove Into the Spider-Verse was only a small percentage of what they can do.

The sequel to the huge 2018 hit is bigger, bolder, and better in almost every way. The animation is stunning, the story deep and meaningful and the rest sublime. It’s everything a sequel should be.

Miles Morales is again wonderful, establishing himself very much as the epitome of what Spider-Man should be in an adventure where the essence of the character is questioned at every turn.

Gwen also gets her moment to shine, continuing her fine showing in the first film, while the rest of the cast are equally superb. That includes the ‘villain’ of the piece, Miguel O’Hara.

The whole film is simply wonderful viewing from start to finish, with repeated viewings a necessity, and an ending that will leave you wanting more.
